A new challenger has entered the ring: Hi-Rez studios will be launching a battle royale mode for Paladins, called Paladins: Battlegrounds.
Michael Whertor from Polygon has the scoop on the details which were announced at HRX, Hi-Rez’s yearly conference. The concept is what you would expect: 100 players are dropped on a battlefield where they have to scrounge for supplies and fight till the death while the battlefield becomes smaller and smaller. According to Whertor, Paladins: Battlegrounds is more team-oriented than current offerings from Fortnite and PUBG. The unique offering of Paladins: Battleground is that the characters will have their abilities to use, thus making this one the first “class-oriented” battle royale.
Currently, Hi-Rez is looking at late 2018 for the official launch of this mode. The official announcement trailer can be found above this article. You can read the Polygon article Here.
