You probably didn’t hear it here first, but Titanfall will have a Season Pass.
I’m feeling fancy tonight, so I’ll quote Forbes Magazine on this one:
While it was no surprise that Titanfall wouldn’t have an “Online Pass” as EA said they were giving up the practice for all their games months ago, it’s just been revealed that the game will in fact have the ever-popular DLC “Season Pass,” that is sold alongside practically all new games now.
The season pass will be for three map packs and is $24.99. It saves $5 off buying them individually.
As much as we’d love free map pack updates, paid DLC like that has simply become an acceptable part of the industry. A season pass is a way to at least save some money on the inevitable torrent of future content, and something tells me Respawn is going to be providing substantial updates to Titanfall well into the future.
In a sentence I never thought I would hear myself say, I agree with Forbes on this one. I already pre-ordered, so upgrading to a deluxe pre-order (which has the season pass bundled in) is just $20. The pass by itself is $25. If you buy them individually, well, you’re out quite a bit more I wager. I’m upgrading with an Origin EA rep right now.
